Hot Player Firestick: 5 Easy Steps

Hot Player IPTV

Quick answer: the Hot Player Firestick setup takes about 5 minutes. Install the free Downloader app, allow it to install apps, enter the code 395800, install Hot Player (formerly Hot IPTV), then activate it with your device’s MAC ID. The app has a 30-day free trial; after that, activation with us is $19.95 once, lifetime for one Fire TV, with 1 month of IPTV included.

What you need for the Hot Player Firestick setup

  • A Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube or a Fire TV smart TV, connected to the internet.
  • About 5 minutes and your Fire TV remote.
  • Your IPTV username. No subscription yet? Our activation includes 1 free month of IPTV.

Hot IPTV is simply the old name of Hot Player: the old site hotiptv.app now leads to the developer’s site hotplayer.app. Guides that mention Hot IPTV on Fire TV describe the same app.

Hot Player Firestick setup in 5 steps

Follow the steps in order. Each one takes less than a minute, and you only do this once per Fire TV device.

Step 1: Install Downloader

  1. On the Fire TV home screen, open Find → Search and type Downloader.
  2. Select the orange Downloader app by AFTVnews and choose Download. It is free.

Downloader is the standard way to install apps that are not in the Amazon Appstore. Its maker explains it on the AFTVnews Downloader page.

Step 2: Allow Downloader to install apps

  1. Go to Settings → My Fire TV.
  2. If you don’t see Developer options, open About and click your device name 7 times until “You are now a developer” appears.
  3. Open Developer options → Install unknown apps and switch it ON for Downloader.

Step 3: Install Hot Player with code 395800

  1. Open Downloader, select the address box, type 395800 and press Go.
  2. Downloader fetches the app file from apk.hotiptv.app, the app’s own download address (from its Hot IPTV days). When the download finishes, choose Install.
  3. When it’s installed, choose Done. You can delete the downloaded file afterwards to free space.

Step 4: Open Hot Player and find your MAC ID

Open Hot Player from Your Apps & Channels. The app shows your device’s MAC ID. Write it down or take a photo of the screen: you need it to activate.

  1. Open our Hot Player activation form.
  2. Enter your MAC ID, your IPTV username (or the one you would like) and your email.
  3. Pay $19.95 once. Your lifetime activation and 1 month of IPTV are added, usually in under 2 minutes.

Hot Player Firestick features worth knowing

Once it is activated, Hot Player works the same on every Fire TV model. These are the features our customers use most (feature list from the developer, hotplayer.app):

  • Up to 3 playlists: you can add up to three lists and switch between them in the app.
  • Live TV, movies, series and catch-up in one place, with favourites and categories.
  • PIN lock: lock or hide content with a PIN, useful with children at home.
  • Lock MAC: stops anybody else from resetting your playlist.
  • Clear warnings: if a list stops working, the app shows a message on your TV, so you know it is not your Fire TV.

Hot Player Firestick tips for smooth playback

  • Use a cable if you can. A Fire TV Ethernet adapter is usually more stable than Wi-Fi in the evening, when networks are busy.
  • Check your speed. We recommend at least 25 Mbps per stream for HD and a faster connection for 4K.
  • Lock your MAC. Hot Player has a “Lock MAC” option in its settings so nobody else can reset your playlist.
  • Restart once in a while. Unplug the Fire TV for 10 seconds if channels start to freeze after many hours.
  • Keep the app updated. Install new versions the same way, with Downloader and code 395800.

Not sure how fast your connection is? Test it on Speedtest.net from the TV room, and see the internet-speed answer in our IPTV FAQs.

Problems with Hot Player on Firestick? Quick fixes

  • “Install blocked” in Downloader: go back to Step 2 and switch on Install unknown apps for Downloader.
  • Code 395800 doesn’t open: check that the Fire TV is online and type the numbers only, without spaces.
  • The app asks to activate after 30 days: that is normal. The free trial has ended; activate it with the form above.
  • No channels after activation: Hot Player is a player only. Channels come from your IPTV subscription; see our IPTV plans.
  • Still stuck? Contact support with your MAC ID and a photo of the screen.
